MA creates 'hip' antismoking site
In an effort to educate teens about the dangers of smoking, Massachusetts' Department of Public Health created www.The84.org. The Web site features antismoking film clips made by adolescents and information about why smoking is not healthy and how to quit once someone has started. It also offers a forum for teens to post their thoughts about cigarettes and other tobacco products. The project is also on MySpace to reach a national audience and cost the state $200,000 to develop. Eighty-four refers to the percentage of teens who don't smoke.
